Dress With Confidence

I recently posted a poll on my IG story inquiring what I should do with this blue (faux) suede jacket. To keep it or return it, that was the question. It only cost me $20 but I was worried it was too bold for me to pull off. As you know I typically wear a lot of white, black and gray (and blues too I suppose) so I knew it would mix in my wardrobe nicely but was worried it’d look like I wanted a ton of attention. Regardless, the overwhelming response to the poll was to keep it. And I’m glad I did!

The first time I wore it, I got tons of compliments on it walking around. The color is striking which is great, but it’s also a super practical jacket. It’s lightweight so it’s great for this time of year and I’ll be wearing it all summer long. Throwing it over a basic t-shirt is already my favorite way to rock it.

But my main point in sharing this is about confidence. I get asked a lot about recommendations on what guys should wear. Whether it’s through Instagram or in real life. Men, women, whoever. Never children, because children never doubt their decisions–haha we could learn a lot from kiddos. Anyways, the thing I always hear is that while it looks good on me, they could never wear it. It always confuses me. In this instance, I myself was worried about the color because it’s a bit electric. But I liked it so I reminded myself I can wear whatever the hell I want. So I did it. I swear 75% of any outfit is the confidence you need to pull it off. Don’t doubt your style choices. Wear what you want. If it doesn’t work, don’t wear it again. But don’t fall victim to “rules of fashion” or what you think you should be wearing.

You do you and it’ll pay off. Promise.
