Customized Hair Care with Formulate

If you know me personally, I’ve probably talked about the fact that I don’t regularly wash my hair. I find most shampoos too harsh and stripping and most conditioners leave such a residue that my hair feels flat and heavy. I’ve always used quite a bit of product. That combined with oily hair I was always nervous to not wash it every day. But then I made the transition and aside from a day or two of it looking slightly more greasy, it adapted nicely.

All of this to say that I obviously do wash my shampoo and condition regularly, just not every day. Typically it’s every three days or so, sometimes more or less depending on how much I’ve sweat and how much product I’ve used that week. I recently discovered Formulate and it’s been so amazing!

So here’s how it works…

Formulate is a fully customized hair cleansing system. The end result is two large bottles–one shampoo and one conditioner that are specifically formulated for you. Formulate provides a comprehensive survey that seeks to find out everything about your hair.

Dry scalp? They’ve got you. Curly hair? They’ve got you. Thinning hair? They’ve got you. Plus, based on how many days a week you shampoo and condition (for me it’s roughly twice) they can predict how long each bottle will last you.

You download their app and take the quiz. Within a week or so they send you your custom formulation. It’s that simple. Plus, the experience is amazing. The first batch they sent me didn’t leave my hair feeling as moisturized as I would have liked, so they collected my feedback and reformulated a new formula. And my new formula is perfect!

My sulfate-free formula contains elements to strengthen and prevent loss, increase shine and texture, replenish and revitalize damaged hair (damn blow dryer!), and improve texture and maximize waves. And you view it all right in the app. The app is also great for contacting the team for questions concerning your formula and reordering when you need more.

I’m honestly loving Formulate and I’d highly encourage you to check it out. Stop settling for one size fits all hair care and create a system just for you!
