Father’s Day Gift Guide

Yep, another Father’s Day gift guide. Except that this year, I’m a dad myself so I feel like it’s stuff you’ll actually want to get your dad. Or at least it’s stuff that me or my dad would like to receive. So whether you’re shopping for your dad, a dad you know, or maybe even for yourself, this gift guide has got you covered.

Techy Trinkets

I was never a smart watch sort of guy and it was mainly because I didn’t like the look of the ahem… Apple watch. Still don’t, just not my thing. But, then I got my hands on Fossil’s Q line of smart watches and they changed my mine. They’re watches first, at least at first glance, but they sync up with your phone and can do pretty much anything. I wear this one to work or dinner and always have my email, calendar and message at my wrist. And I use this one and the stopwatch (and Google Fit synchronization) at the gym. I control my bluetooth speakers from my wrist. And I can even text and catch up on Instagram. But most importantly, they still look like watches instead of big old calculators on your wrist. Use code DAD25 on www.fossil.com to save 25%.

Memory Makers

Having had a baby, these holidays have gotten so much easier to give gifts to grandparents. Turns out, the only thing parents love more than their kids is their grandkids. At Mother’s Day, and now Father’s Day, we gave out this awesome photo set from Artifact Uprising to my parents and they make the perfect gift. Gonna treat myself to one too, because why not!

Not-So-Basic Basics

I know it’s so cliché to give socks and underwear for Father’s Day, but in all honesty, the older I get, the more I appreciate things like that. Quality basics are so nice as an adult! It’s just something you start to really appreciate. And not having to buy them yourself? Well that’s even better. I recently started wearing these Lacoste boxer briefs and let me tell you… They are so comfortable! So comfy that my wife actually started borrowing them to sleep in so that should tell you something. I also love these 2(x)ist trunks. Their sleek fit is perfect for wearing under slim fitting jeans.

And for socks, well of course I’m going to recommend my own sock line. Duh! But in all seriousness, Style by Orion socks are pretty cool. I designed them all myself and the goal was simple. Stylish socks that could be worn casually (think shorts or jeans and a t-shirt) or dressed up (think business affairs or nights out with your beau). Plus, I wanted them all made in the USA. Mission accomplished! So do me a solid and head over to Style By Orion and pick up a pair for your dad (or just yourself) for Father’s Day. Use code COOLDAD for 25% off and you get free shipping all the dang time.

As a new dad myself, I realize I spend a lot more time in pajamas than I used to. Maybe it’s because I’m up two or three times a night changing diapers or maybe it’s because I don’t get dressed until noon on weekends (or maybe it’s both). But whatever the reason, a good set of PJs has become a staple I can’t live without. I have set just like this from Original Penguin and it’s hands down amazing. Perfect for late-night shuffling to and from the baby nursery (or stopping by the kitchen for a midnight snack).

I started to compile a list of grooming items I’d recommend and realized it could be its own post (so many good things!) so here’s a link to it.

Would you get any of these gifts for your dad for Father’s Day? Let me know by shooting me a DM on Instagram!
