Get Comfortable, Be Confident

To me, comfort is king. If you don’t feel comfortable in what you’re wearing, you’re not going to be comfortable period. My point is that how can you be confident in anything you’re doing if you’re worrying about a tag or not bending your legs too much because you might rip them. Side note, I have ripped many a pant. What can I say? I love a fitted pant. But, back to my point, being comfortable has a lot to do with how you carry yourself in the outfit you’re wearing. I hardly ever need to wear a suit, and when I do I never feel comfortable. I feel like my jacket is restricting or my shirt’s buttoned too tight… It all leads to a less confident me. But when I’m wearing something that suits me (pun intended), I feel like I can do anything.

Case and point, this outfit. It combines so many of my favorite things. And while, yes, I won’t be wearing it in replacement of a suit to my next soiree, it’s an outfit that makes me feel comfortable and confident. Let’s break it down:

  • I love a white tee. If you ever browse my IG story (I post my OOTDs there), you probably can tell, but I wear white t-shirts all the time. As we transition to fall, long sleeve tees are a great go-to. This lightweight waffle knit crewneck from Banana Republic is a great basic. It’s heavier than a traditional t-shirt (it is a thermal after all) so it hangs nicely. Great way to get the look of a crewneck sweater without the added weight this time of year.
  • Again, if you ever look at my IG stories, you’ll know that I have been raving about these jeans non-stop. They are also from Banana Republic and the fit is AMAZING! It’s a pair of their Rapid Movement Denim in skinny fit. The thing I love about them is that they are a skinny fit clearly, but allow for so much movement. Plus, unlike a lot of jeans with elastane or other stretch materials in them, they bounce right back wear after wear. No stretched out knees or saggy butt. YES!
  • What can I say about these Converse high tops… I wear these guys so much. I just love how they look and they’re (you guessed it) comfortable. They give a nice laidback, edgy look to a casual outfit and I can’t stop wearing them.

The long and short of it is, in my opinion, when you’re comfortable you’re confident.
