Some Spring Staples

This weekend marked the arrival of Southern California summer. It reached ninety degrees and I am excited. Since California doesn’t get a true winter typically, the arrival of warmer weather isn’t much to cheer about. However, this year So Cal got tons of rain so I’m ready for the heat and sunshine. I was finally able to pack away a ton of sweaters and transitioned my closet to short sleeves and light layers. This short sleeve shirt is a cotton linen blend and it’s my new favorite thing. I love everything about it: the fabric, the fit, the stripe. This shirt tops my list of things you need to add to your closet. It’s going to be worn nonstop, all season long.

If you asked me for my number one must-have accessory this spring/summer, I’d probably say it’s a bandana. Bandanas are great for adding a little bit of interest to a simple outfit. Think of them as the scarf of the warmer seasons. Instead of providing warmth though, they simply provide a subtle style pop. Simply roll or fold it and tie around your neck. Or wear it as a bracelet.  If you’re going to be outside, get it wet and it’ll help keep you cool all day (I’m looking at you music festival fans).

These pieces are spring staples and this is an easy look to replicate so give it a try! Here’s hoping it’s warm where you are or is at least beginning to warm up!
