I have a confession. Well, it’s not so much a confession as a statement that I feel you’ll be interested in hearing about. Lately, I have been having tons of fun getting dressed. Style is a personal thing and it should reflect you and your lifestyle. I’ve worked in conservative environments and my closet and style, even outside the office, were a little more conservative. Now I work somewhere where, short of coming in nude, no one cares what I wear. All of this has resulted in having a lot more freedom when I get dressed.

One random yet highly noticeable change is the sudden influx of t-shirts in my wardrobe. I have to admit that I fought t-shirts for a long time because I thought they were lazy. I don’t know what I was thinking because I’m loving how versatile they can be. One rule I abide by pretty strictly is to make sure that my t-shirt is always pulling its own style weight on its own. A stylish t-shirt needs to have an interesting hemline (like this longline tee), a cool texture or come in an on-trend color. That way you can dress casually and incorporate a comfortable t-shirt but you’ll still look like you care about what you look like.

In addition to the t-shirt rule, another rule I try to follow is to add unexpected elements to every outfit. You can keep it simple and straightforward but always make sure there’s something that’s giving a little glimpse into your personality. In this look it’s the socks. These Soxfords socks are bright and colorful and let people know that I don’t take getting dressed too seriously. Have fun with it and show the world who you are. Add little pops of your personality into your outfits and you will always win. And a super simple way to do this is by showing your personality through your socks. Check out the full selection from Soxfords and start adding some pizazz to your looks.

Not sure if anyone remembers a few months back… I had asked people to recommend their favorite brand of high tops. I was in the market for a new pair and needed some help figuring out which ones I wanted. The result? I ended up purchasing these Converse All Star High Tops and I love them! I’m a little concerned about how dirty they’re going to get due to them being white, but what’s a white sneaker without a few scuffs, right?
