I remember last year about this time I went shopping for a few spring and summer essentials. It’s a good time of year to stock up on a few basics that you’ll wear a lot as it warms up. Last year everything I bought was in shades of blue. I remember bringing it home and laying it out and being like wow it’s all blue. It worked out well because I could mix and match pretty much everything I bought for a nice monochromatic look. Also, let’s be real, blue is perfect for spring and summer.
So, this past weekend I went shopping for a few warm weather essentials and brought it home and it was all gray and white. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I love everything I bought. I’ll chalk it up to the fact that my style has evolved a bit. Funnily enough, everything I bought was offered in blue but I chose gray every time. So what, maybe this spring will be a little less colorful. And I’m okay with that.
This tee, among other things, was part of my gray stockpiling shopping spree. Can’t beat it, especially for $9. Paired it with a clean pair of jeans (see they’re blue!). I’m loving my new backpack from CAT Bags. It’d be great for transporting my laptop back and forth from work. I used it as a camera bag this past weekend and it worked great. It’s made of ultra durable fabric so I already foresee it coming in handy at the beach this summer.
Something else I’m particularly excited about are these quilted high top sneakers from Aureus. First off, they’re so cool looking. I mean, look at them! Besides that, the way these shoes are made (I’d take a minute to read about it because it’s actually super interesting) make them incredibly comfortable. I wore them to work the other day and it’s like walking on baby sheep… If walking on baby sheep wasn’t this horrible image that no one wants to think about. But I think you get the idea.
So this look pretty much sums up my spring wardrobe at the moment. Add a little white into the mix and you’ve got my spring closet. What are you wearing this spring? DM me on Instagram!
