Suit Up for Spring

I’m a pretty casual guy. I work in a casual environment right on the beach so I’m usually in jeans a t-shirt. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love a good excuse to get dressed up. When I got my hands on this Banana Republic suit from their Monogram collection I was crossing my fingers for a wedding invitation. It’s a gorgeous wool suit in this subtle navy plaid pattern. It’s my first patterned suit and I love it. The thing I love about suits is their versatility. While at times an investment, their ability to wear the pieces together or separate means you get three times as many outfit options as a normal item of clothing.

Since I work somewhere casual, I don’t get a ton of opportunities to rock a suit so it was fun to rock something more polished. Since I don’t have any summer weddings on the horizon (fingers crossed that’ll change), I’ll be wearing the pieces separately. Perhaps with a chambray shirt? You know I love a good chambray or denim shirt. Or maybe a boxy white t-shirt for a nice casual take on a tailored pant. And the jacket will get some play as a light layer for spring and summer evenings. Regardless, this baby will be getting some nice wear all spring and summer long.
