Trend Alert: Sweater Polo

Spring and summer knitwear is very much a thing and it’s time to get on board. Now before you start complaining about how sweaters aren’t meant for warmer weather, just give me a chance to explain. Two words: sweater polo.

First off, there are all types of sweaters so don’t go thinking it’s appropriate to walk around in a chunky lambswool sweater when it’s 75 degrees out. Not okay! Pick up a lighter weight option that’s spun from cotton or a blend of wool and cotton. It may surprise you but this silky blend is very breathable and extremely lightweight. Second, a go-to style you need to get your hands on this season is a sweater polo. It harkens back to the days of old when dapper gents played croquet and sipped lemonade on the grounds of some Gatsby-esque mansion.

The best part is that you can style it however you like because it’s a classic piece. I layered this gorgeous camel colored polo under a nice denim jacket. I turned that classic look on its head with a pair of skinny black jeans and leather Chelsea boots. Love mixing a little edge with something classic. I’m excited about this polo because I can already see wearing it with shorts, light wash jeans, colorful chinos… the options are endless. And isn’t that what you want from a spring/summer staple?
