A Few Spring Style Must-Haves

This is such a weird time of year. I know some parts of the country are buried under snow still but here we had a nice week of high seventies and sun. Then it got cool again. Today it’s raining theoretically. The weather’s all over the place and I’m here trying to figure out when I should take my shorts out of storage. In the meantime, light layers seem to be the right way to go.

My style has gotten a bit more casual in the last six months or so. And it seems that because of the shift, I’ve been getting a lot more DMs (which I love by the way) asking me how I put my looks together. This is one of my go-to looks and it combines a few spring must-haves that you need to have in your closet.

T-Shirts

Quality tees are a must for the warmer months. Crewneck t-shirts have made a huge resurgence. Feel free to rock a v-neck, but crewnecks have some serious style weight nowadays. I’m personally loving the trend of tucking in a crewneck tee. It’s a way to style it to elevate it a bit, plus I think it gives some definition to your body which is always nice. It’s a style secret that women have been using for years, defining the waist to emphasize the narrowest part of their body. Give it a try and see what you think.

Sneakers

Sneakers, sneakers, sneakers. This is an absolute must for spring/summer. Regardless of how you feel about sandals (still a style conundrum that keeps me up at night), sneakers are the perfect casual footwear choice. Last year, white sneakers were the only way to go (and man are they still amazing), but with the evolution of the sneaker as a respectable streetstyle choice other colors and treatments have arisen. These black Rockports are insanely comfortable (a must for a sneaker) and are super sleek. I love the

Denim Jacket

If you only have one layering piece this spring, make it a denim jacket. And invest in a decently made one. Before this one I had a pretty cheap version and the fit was off and I never wore it. Find one that fits you well and start breaking it in. Just like your favorite pair of jeans, denim jackets only get better with time.
