STYLE

Challenge Accepted

So I’m sort of clothing nerd. If you want to talk style, clothes, etc., always feel free to shoot me a DM. I love it! Recently, after I posted this photo on my Instagram someone sent me a DM saying that loafers didn’t seem like something I’d wear. I would have taken it as a challenge had I not already worn them and photographed this look. Instead I told them to stay tuned because the outfit was coming. It’s the perfect example of taking a clothing item and styling it for yourself. Clothes don’t define your style, how you wear them does. Personal style changes and evolves over time. My style’s changed from preppy and pulled-together to more casual and now has more edge.

If you follow my daily OOTD posts on my Instagram story, you can probably tell I’ve been dressing more casually. So I decided to ignore the preppy stereotype that loafers have and incorporate them into my newfound love of streetstyle. I paired them with my ripped denim (DIYed them myself) and a new slub jersey tee. The distressed, worn-in feel of both the jeans and the tee contrast nicely with the polished leather loafers. It works and I feel like myself which is key to personal style.
