Winning with White Sneakers

Here’s something you probably already know about me: I own tons of clothes. My closet is bursting at the seams; sweaters, jeans, shoes abound. But it’s what I like (clearly) so there’s always something on my wishlist. For years (no joke, years), a pair of Stan Smiths have been on my wishlist. I love white sneakers and had yet to add the Stan Smiths to my collection. Not sure why I never broke down and bought a pair but every time it came time to buy a pair of shoes I chose something else. For Christmas I finally received a pair of Stan Smiths. Opening them was essentially the adult equivalent of opening a Nintendo 64 back in the day. I was excited.

Southern California got hit with the largest set of storms in recent history and it’s been raining ever since Christmas. I’m ever so slightly OCD so I wasn’t about to let brand new white sneakers leave the house in the rain. Long story longer, I only just wore them this week and I’m in love. Can’t believe I haven’t always had them. Loved pairing them with these awesome tube socks. Haven’t decided how I feel about the tube sock style making a comeback, but I definitely not hating it. These light wash jeans have been on my short list of things to buy (got these guys for less than $10). Light denim always looks great with a classic pair of white sneakers–pair them with anything and you’re golden.

I rocked my light denim and white sneakers with my new favorite bomber–this faux velvet beauty! My wife got it for me for Christmas and it’s my new favorite piece which brings up an important question… Can I wear faux velvet year round? Because I am thinking I am going to want this jacket to become a staple. Much like a good pair of white sneakers.
