The new year is all about fresh starts. It gives you the chance to hit the pause button and reassess. I’ve set some overarching goals that I hope to accomplish this year, but I like finding other little ways to start the year on the right foot. Speaking of foot, I just broke these new sneakers out of the box and I couldn’t be happier—new year, new shoes! Another way I’m giving 2017 a fresh start is by mixing up my fragrance game. I chose to start 2017 off with a fresh new fragrance: Polo Red by Polo Ralph Lauren. I’m a little picky when it comes to fragrances. However, I’m pleased to announce that I really like this scent. It’s subtle, which is great because I want people to sense I’m wearing cologne but not feel suffocated by it. And it’s a great combination of sweet citrus and smoky spice so I’ll be able to spray it on year-round.
Perhaps the only person pickier than myself about what fragrance I wear is my wife. There have been numerous times when I’ve tried out a new cologne, face moisturizer, beard oil, etc. that she can’t stand. They get retired to the back of my drawer where I only pull them out if I know they’ll for sure wear off by the time I see her. Funny thing, she loves this Polo Red scent (score!). It probably has to do with the fact that I used to use a different Ralph Lauren scent back when we first met. Maybe they have an underlying similarity or maybe she just likes the scent because I mean, who wouldn’t? Either way, she’s happy and I’m happy. Too bad I already have it because otherwise it’d make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
