Two things that are blowing my mind even though they shouldn’t be… One, Thanksgiving is next week which means that Christmas is right behind it. Two, the weather where I’m at (Southern California) has been alternating between very hot days and slightly cooler days. It’s anywhere between 70 and 90 these days which is just ridiculous. Hence a short sleeve shirt in November. I’ve had this windowpane revere collar shirt for months now and haven’t worn it. I took it with me on my trip to Hawaii, I’ve tried to wear it casually, dressed up, all sorts of ways but never figured out how to do it. This past weekend I wore it to an early birthday brunch and I think it turned out pretty well.

I often get asked (usually via Instagram DM) if I ever struggle putting together outfits. The answer is yes. It’s not always easy to figure out what to wear and certain pieces cause some struggles. This shirt is a great example. I knew I liked the back-in-trend revere collar style. The modern take on a classic windowpane print was also right up my alley, but for some reason I struggled. Then it became that item in my closet that I tried to wear all the time but for some reason it never worked out. It’s so crazy how things like that can get in your head. My solution was to keep it simple with black jeans and leather boots. It’s a longer cut so I opted to tuck it in.

Now that I’ve actually worn it I can already think of a few other ways I’m planning on wearing it. It was my Everest and I conquered it.

“It was my Everest and I conquered it.” I really like this statement in reference to that one item of clothing you finally managed to wear in style 🙂 i have a lot of “everests” in my closet, as it turns out, which will prolly end in the donation basket if i’m still unable to figure out how to wear them before 2017. 🙁 but congratulations on conquering yours! i think you really rocked it along with the brown boots 🙂

Thanks so much! Don’t give up on your difficult items–just get creative! Usually I look to other stylish folks for inspiration. I see something I like and recreate it for myself. Thanks for the comment and for reading along, I appreciate it!
