Holiday Gifting 101: The Gift for Everyone

It’s officially holiday gifting season. And if you don’t believe me I suggest taking a quick trip to your local mall. I’ll bet you it’s decorated and they’re just days away from announcing Santa’s arrival. It’s that time of year folks so be ready and start your holiday shopping early. One of my favorite go to holiday gifts for people are coffee table books. They’re personal without being too personal and usually pretty affordable. Whether you’re shopping for a close friend, a coworker or party host you cannot go wrong with a beautiful coffee table book. Plus, they’re a gift that someone hardly ever buys themselves and they always look nice. Here are a few books that I’ve given, received or hope to receive as a gift this holiday season.

Men and Style: Essays, Interviews, and Considerations by David Coggins

This one is on the top of my holiday wishlist this year. It’s full of style advice for men but also details the history of men’s fashion and the key players in the industry. As a man who’s personally concerned with style I’d love to receive it and can picture myself perusing it with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning. It’d be the perfect holiday gift for any stylish gent in your life.

Shake: A New Perspective on Cocktails by Eric Prum & Josh Williams

I received this book last year as a Christmas present and it’s amazing! It’s not only full of stunning photography but contains recipes for all of the cocktails. Plus, the recipes are surprisingly straightforward for being craft cocktails and they tell you in the beginning of the book the short list of ingredients you’ll need to make every recipe in the book. It’s the perfect gift for any at-home bartender in your life.

Any coffee lover will appreciate this book. Stephenson takes readers on a journey of the coffee bean from harvesting to roasting to brewing to sipping. Plus, it gives an in-depth, and visually beautiful account of how to enjoy all types of caffeinated beverages. Besides, what’s more fitting for a coffee table than a book about coffee?

I gave my wife this book as a gift last year because we were going through the process of decorating and styling our house. Emily Henderson is a genius and this book has come in handy so many times for us! No matter your style, her tips for styling rooms and difficult spaces are so easy to follow. The Curious Bartender: The artistry and alchemy of creating the perfect cocktail by Tristan Stephenson

I’m a sucker for cocktail coffee table books. First off, I love to make cocktails at home–I’ve got a fully stocked bar at all times and love crafting something new. Secondly, the images are always so damn gorgeous. Stephenson’s crack at the world of booze and cocktails looks as intriguing as it does mouth-watering. Plus, the cover looks like it belongs crammed between a Dickens novel and a The Iliad so it’s got that going for it.
