It’s hot. It’s humid. And it’s time for a cocktail. By the end of a hot summer’s day all I want to do is cool off with a refreshing and light cocktail. I love fresh or herbal flavors in cocktails–I made a rosemary simple syrup a while back and went through it so fast that I wasn’t even able to photograph any of the cocktails I made with it. Woops, I’ll have to whip up another batch and get to posting some of those soon. One flavor that always goes well in a cocktail is cucumber so I recently started picking up these Spindrift seltzers because they add a great cucumber flavor and taste so fresh and light. They go great in my favorite cocktail: a gin and tonic. Personally, there’s nothing I love more than a gin cocktail no matter how you slice it but there’s something so simple and so satisfying about a gin and tonic. They are my go to summer drink (or year round to be honest) so I thought that the addition of some cucumber flavor would work and it turned out great. Recipe below (even though it’s pretty self-explanatory). Enjoy!
Ingredients
Bluecoat Gin (Or your favorite gin. Loving the light, clean taste of Bluecoat at the moment.)
Cucumber
Lime
Recipe
- Muddle a slice or two of cucumber in your glass.
- Add 1-2oz of gin (depending on glass size).
- Squeeze juice of one lime wedge into glass.
- Add ice to glass.
- Top off with Spindrift Cucumber Seltzer.
- Garnish with a slice of cucumber or lime.
And that’s it, could it get any easier?! It’s delicious, refreshing and even as I write this I want to be sipping on one. Unfortunately it’s 7AM on a Monday… Sip responsibly friends!
