Happy Day!

I realized that the summer season was nearing a close and I hadn’t gotten much wear out of my white denim so I hurried up and wore this outfit out to dinner for my wife’s birthday a few weeks ago. While white denim (or wheat denim as these are labeled) can definitely transition into fall they provide the perfect light color palette that summer style is more accustomed to. A bonus to this outfit are these awesome double monk strap shoes. Funny story about the shoes… they are about 3 to 4 years old and I’ve never worn them. I bought them on a killer discount but they were always a bit too large for my feet. I have tried every way I can think of to make these guys work. I’ve added insoles, and heel grips, and I’ve even worn thick camp socks with them to fill them out. Nothing has ever worked. I gave up on them years ago. But for this night I decided for the heck of it to slip in a new insole and try them out and what do you know? They worked! It was truly a Cinderella moment when I was able to walk out the door comfortably in what has always been one of my favorite pairs of shoes. It was indeed a happy day!
