Sunday (Mother’s Day) was filled with brunch, dessert, drinks and celebrating the moms in my life. I got this light citron gingham button down when my wife and I were in Palm Springs and hit up the Cabazon outlets and I have been looking for a reason to wear it ever since. I kept it simple and classic with some navy chinos. Later in the day it got over 100 degrees so I took off my sun-faded pants and opted for my navy sun-faded shorts.
I added my all-time favorite thrift store find, my faux crocodile leather loafers. I got them a couple of years ago at Goodwill for $12 and at first it freaked me out to slide my toes into someone else’s shoes, but once I got past the initial scare, I can’t stop wearing them. Now don’t freak out, I’m wearing no-show socks. I go sockless, but not in shoes I don’t know the history of.
For me, this outfit is the epitome of my Sunday style. I want to be comfortable and casual but still stylish. And considering it was the hottest day of Spring so far this was as much layering as I was up for.
